Town Center Residential Housing

YWCA has continuously housed women since 1918, when our downtown building was opened to the public. Our Town Center Women’s Housing Program provides safe, affordable, dormitory style rental housing for low-income single women, 18 years and older. Domestic Violence Prevention Program (DVPP)

The Domestic Violence Prevention Programs (DVPP) helps women, children, men, and families recover from abuse, resolve personal conflicts, improve self-esteem and begin new lives. The primary feature of this program are our two shelters. The shelters are located in a private, secure and confidential places in both the City of Lynchburg and the Town of Altavista. 

Sexual Assault Response Program (SARP)

The YWCA of Central Virginia’s Sexual Assault Response Program (SARP) is dedicated to providing free crisis intervention, support, advocacy, and information to survivors of sexual assault and abuse as well as to family members and friends. The program provides services, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to residents of the City of Lynchburg, Town of Bedford and Altavista, as well as the counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Campbell.
